Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend

Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but for now little gold balls will do- Jenna got her ears pierced! After a few false attempts during the past year, Jenna asked Nana to take her to get her ears pierced, and she actually went through with it! She said that she was going to be very brave like the brave little bear in one of her bedtime stories, and she certainly was; there were only a few tears according to Nana. She has been constantly reminding me to clean her ears and to turn her earring three times a day- no worries concerning the "is she old/ mature enough" question.

Now we have to face the challenge of her taste in jewelry. Let me explain- When she talked to her Papa he mentioned that now he would have to get her a pair of pretty earrings. She replied, "Yes Papa, but make sure you get the expensive ones because the cheap ones will make my ears get infected!" Too funny! The saving grace in this, however, was her response to the question, "How much is expensive?" Her answer, "About $8!"

On a related note, Kara's newest daily mantra is "Kawa get two eawings in my two eahs!" We will have to wait and see...
