The Best Laid Plans...

The Girls in their Easter Finery.

Let me start by saying that I had the best of intentions for delivering beautiful Easter pictures via this blog to all of you eagerly awaiting grandparents. However, Burns poem To A Mouse comes to mind here... "The best laid schemes of Mice and Men oft go awry, And leave us nothing but grief and pain, For promised joy!" Poor little Jenna had been sick for exactly seven days at this point, and it was a miracle in itself that we managed to get her dressed and get her to church, much less get a picture perfect Easter shot.

Not So Happy

Her preschool choir sang during the "big church" service, an event that she has been excitedly anticipating for months; however, she felt so badly that we had to beg her to come and just watch her friends- there was no way that she was going up there. She was asleep before we even got out of the church parking lot after the service. She slept through our Easter lunch with a house full of people here, and we finally had to coax her into hiding eggs at about 7PM. Needless to say, she was pitiful, and photo ops were few and far between.

Finally having a little fun

Kara enjoyed the day by trying real mac and cheese at lunch with a little taste of cheesecake! She also entertained all of the family by showing off her new funny face- pictures are coming soon!

Jenna and Kara received two sets of beautiful matching gowns from the Easter bunny, and Jenna was surprised when she saw that he also left her the newest Disney movie Enchanted; Kara got a cool giraffe toy as a surprise.

Easter Bunny Loot

Even with Jenna's illness in full effect, we enjoyed our Easter Sunday as we celebrated Jesus' resurrection with our family. Having G-Pa, G-Ma, Granny, Aunt Devone, Papa Dill, Uncle Austin, Aunt Megan and Justin, Aunt Katie, and Jewel over for lunch was a special treat. Uncle Zachary was also sick so we missed him lots. A special note: What seemed to be one of Jenna's favorite parts of the whole day came during her Sunday school class. Her friend Joe washed her feet just like Jesus washed the disciples' feet. Jenna is still talking about this- what a precious memory!

No More Picture, Please!
